Ileana Calderone, founder of The Conversation Corner, is BA Modern Languages and Chamber of Commerce registered translator from English into Italian & from English into Standard Arabic (al-lugha al-'arabiyya al-fusha).
Education
She was born in Turin, Italy. In 2005 she achieved her BA Modern Languages with English, Italian and Standard Arabic as languages of specialization at the Faculty of Philosophy in the University of Palermo, Italy. In 2006 she completed her course of specialization in Modern Standard & Media Arabic at the University of Al-Manar of Tunis, Tunisia. In 2007 she qualified herself as Chamber of Commerce Registered Translator for the Italian, Arabic and English languages.
Experiencing teaching in UK and abroad
Since 2000 she have been tutoring Italian and Arabic language abroad to private individuals as well as to providing tuitions to diplomatic corps, in Italy to foreigners and in UK enjoying and promoting a teaching method based on providing students with the ability in speaking and understanding fast and easily the language, as well as making students improving reading and writing skills, along with the supplying the awareness of the culture related to the language studied.
In 2011, Ileana took the decision to estalish her own business venture, The Conversation Corner ,organising language group courses in the heart of the City of London through the help of further academically qualified teachers being able to provide courses in several languages and tutoring services around all London areas and boroughs.
